Next August, Weekend Festival will bring the top names in electronic music to Espoo’s Vermo Event Park, and on Friday, Martin Garrix has been confirmed as the main performer. All ticket types will be on sale on 15.12. at 9:00 a.m.
The hottest DJ name of the moment will be seen on the Weekend Festival stage next summer. Martin Garrix, who has been crowned the world’s best DJ four times, will take the festival’s main stage on Friday. The Dutch DJ has up to 25 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and his most popular songs have more than a billion listens. Garrix’s most famous hits include Scared to Be Lonely feat. Dua Lipa and In the Name of Love feat. Bebe Rexha. Both songs have sold double platinum in Finland. Garrix can be called one of the legends of electronic music despite his young age, and he has been entertaining music lovers for years at the world’s biggest festivals.

The festival will make the visitors dance for two days at the beginning of August in the spirit of “Time Machine Edition”. The music coverage is also a tribute to Weekend Festival’s roots. The desire for electronic music is everywhere. Electronic and dance music is currently also the most popular music genre in the UK and Central Europe. Weekend Festival has been known for it’s visuals from the beginning, and the darkening evenings of August offer vital circumstances for the light and laser effects that are an essential part of the electronic music festival experience.
Weekend Festival will be celebrated in Espoo’s new Vermo Event Park. We’re bringing the best party of the year back to the capital region, and the Vermo Event Park offers a great setting for the festival, both in terms of the travel and accommodation options. There are a couple of train stations in the vicinity of the arena, and in the future there will be a Jokeri light rail stop. We have planned the event to be held at Vermo for multiple years together with several parties, and that is why we are happy to be able to say that we are returning to Espoo – where Weekend Festival originates in 2012, and the area guarantees Weekend Festival a continuation in the capital region as well.
Vermo is also excited about the multi-year development project together with the festival. “In August 2023, Weekend Festival will open Vermo Areena’s use of large concerts and festivals. Vermo’s operations are expanding from trotting to an arena for other events, so this is a natural trend,” says Vermo Areena CEO Heikki Häyhä.
